Volcano phlox / Companion Plants

We all know that plants are dynamic, living things, and because we understand so much about our own plants (we carry out trials around the world) we appreciate the subtle differences regarding their growth and habit.

Which is why it’s worthwhile visiting the section of our site which gives you local information – which plants are available; when it’s best to plant, prune and feed them; tips and so on. It’s all here to help you enjoy them more.

Volcano phlox

VOLCANO ™ perennial phlox, more color, longer lasting and great disease tolerance

Volcano® phlox will grow 30 to 40-in tall, so group these by flower color in the middle of garden with larger trees or shrubs behind and smaller perennial or annual border plants in front. The lush dark-colored foliage of Canna Tropicanna® will provide stunning backdrop to the leafy green Volcano® foliage and contrasting flower colors. Contrast and complement with low-growing annuals such as impatiens, perennials, verbena or sage in front along the border of the garden. Select colors to complement the pink, purple, red or white Volcano® flowers or contrasting foliage colors to create visual interest without flowers. Plant Volcano® in groups where the mass of flower color in spring and summer will create a powerful impression as the center-piece of the spring flowering garden.

"I have a Volcano Pink, Watch Your Garden Grow - KA-BLOOM!....It s lovely, it is beautiful, it's in full bloom and quite striking. It's vibrant and all you say. But it's white…not Volcano Pink. But I love it and wouldn't trade it. Looking at your web site, this phlox comes in many colors., somebody just switch or mixed up the label. No problem - no complaint. We love it and thanks."
