Tropicanna / Companion Plants
We all know that plants are dynamic, living things, and because we understand so much about our own plants (we carry out trials around the world) we appreciate the subtle differences regarding their growth and habit.
Which is why it’s worthwhile visiting the section of our site which gives you local information – which plants are available; when it’s best to plant, prune and feed them; tips and so on. It’s all here to help you enjoy them more.
Tropicanna® looks fabulous with a foreground of strappy leaved plants, such as a Cordyline like Festival Grass®. Hemerocallis (Daylilies) with their long season of color provide a flower filled edging to your Tropicanna® planting. Clipped foliage shrubs such as Box, Yew and Dwarf Conifers create a strong contrast to the upright exuberance of Tropicanna®. To create a strong architectural theme plant Phormiums (New Zealand flax) in all their many and varied colors and Yucca’s with Tropicanna® to create a wonderful structural effect. Flower Carpet® Coral roses look stunning placed in front of a planting of Tropicanna® with its variegated foliage. A row of the prolific flowering Agapanthus (Lily of the Nile) Snowstorm and Buestorm with their many heads of white and blue flowers in summer is a refreshing and effective border for a planting of Tropicanna®.
