I think some (agapanthus) are hardier than others, so look on the tag before you buy. I purchased a variety called 'Blue Storm' this spring, and it has never stopped blooming. I hope it makes it through the winter because the tag says Zone 9 - web blog, July 2005

I have Flower Carpet pink, appleblossom, yellow and white in the back garden. They all flower prolifically and I never have any trouble with them. When they get a bit large, I clip them back and they're full of blossoms again by the early spring. - R.H., Victoria, Australia
