NEXT GENERATION Flower Carpet® AMBER ground cover rose
NEXT GENERATION, Flower Carpet® SCARLET, the easy care and prolific bloom ground cover roses.
- Any time you trim your roses, just give them a handful of fertilizer or add some liquid feeding around the plant. The reason: when you cut the plant back, it then triggers new growth, and at this time the plants are looking for that added food to ensure you get a great burst of blooms again.
- Do you love cut flowers? These are fabulous for picking because they are bright and colorful and they last a long time! Cut a small spray for a posy vase, the Pink variety are especially pretty.
- Try different colour combinations, you will be surprised at how good they look together. Pink and Yellow look great together, a combination of White and Pink also look fabulous. Appleblossom and Pink. Stupendous.
- Do you need to shift your Flower Carpet Roses but it's the middle of summer? Don’t worry, they can be planted out into the garden AT ANY TIME OF THE YEAR (in warmer areas) Always remember when planting out, trim plant back 1/3 rd in size, give plenty of water and add some rose fertilizer (this helps the roots establish quicker and also ensures a fuller bush).
- Try mixing colors together, either in the garden or in a vase.
- How's this for a good idea to get rid of pesky creatures: Tired of a raccoon drinking all of the sugar water in our hummingbird feeder, I washed the feeder and put it away. The next day my husband said a hummingbird kept coming to our sitting room window, peering in like he was trying to tell us something. Boy, did I feel bad. It's the first time in my years of feeding hummers that I had a raccoon problem. My husband suggested I place the shepherd's hook in the middle of a Flower Carpet rose growing in the flower bed where I can easily see the hummers. I hung the refilled feeder on the hook and waited. Happily, the thorns on the small shrub rose deter Mr. Raccoon and our hummers are happy again.
