Thank you for your prompt response and good advice in relation to my question about my Flower Carpet Scarlet roses. I have a feeling this might be the start of a very rewarding relationship! Just LOVE your roses! They are absolutely beautiful roses - very healthy looking. I plan to buy more in the spring from the same nursery.
B.P., Michigan, October 2009
These Flower Carpet roses are blooming fools. Such a display of color from June till hard freeze. Self cleaning and disease resistant. Just plant and wait for a color explosion. Easiest plant I have in my garden and probably the most spectacular. Stops people walking by and I get comments galore about their beauty from the street. I love them and use them frequently in garden design for others. - E.K., Wisconsin, USA

Flower carpet red and white are wonderful! They bloom over a 6-8 month period in Seattle. Only insect problem are aphids in early summer, but they are easily eliminated with insecticidal soap. Almost evergreen here.

I bought two of the scarlet Flower Carpet roses last year. They have the best color of foliage I have seen so far of all your roses, and the bloom color is amazing. I have two pink supreme in my garden (though) right now the color hasn't had much chance to develop since we have had so much rain. All the other carpet roses that I have planted over the past several years have bloomed totally beautiful this year. The coral was amazing. The pink was like a bright raspberry color this time. But next year 2009, that is the one I have been wating for. I have the perfect spots for two of the new ones you will bringing out for then - they will finish the circle of roses in the front yard around the dogwoods. All I can say is, keep up the good work. Your roses are wonderful. - B.C., USA

I just wanted to send pictures of my Flower Carpet roses. As you can see they just love it in my yard. In Minnesota where I live it gets colder than 20 degrees below in the winter. I just tuck some leaves around them in the fall and prune back in the spring what looks dead. Mine are quite old already. I got them when you first put them on the market. I have every color too. Can't wait to see what is coming out next. Thanks. - P. M., Minnesota, USA

I’ve also seen Flower Carpet roses thriving in the medians of the West Side Highway/12th Avenue. The city has planted them in huge swaths of single colors. With all the cars and the winds off the Hudson, I can’t imagine a worse environment for roses, but they’re in bloom all summer and seem to come back in spring just fine. - B.C., New York, USA

Those Flower Carpet roses are unbeatable…possibly 'the perfect plant'. No mildew or black spot, no watering once established, bloom all summer and thrive in lousy soil. We’ve used Flower Carpet Red in vacant lots in Yonkers and they’re like Energizer bunnies. No dieback either, even with stiff winds off the Hudson. The Red stays low and spreading while the yellow grows taller and more erect for us. - A.M., New York, USA

Thankyou for the Flower Carpet Roses. They are now settling into their new homes in the Windy City but I have grown them before and know they adjust well, being strong growers...Keep up your good work. - L.G., Wellington NZ

Having lived all of my life in the city prior to moving to Bridgewater, NJ, I never cared for any plant life and never expected it to be so easy. I planted my Flower Carpet roses (Appleblossom and Pink) seven years ago as border around the front of my home. They have been a beautiful addition to my landscaping and virtually maintenance free (I fertilize/weed protect beginning in spring only) and have added beautiful color and fragrance to my property. I am now planning to add more around the sides of my home as well. I am so happy I chose these wonderful roses! - A.T., New Jersey, USA

I love your roses and have great success with them in sunny conditions. I am tempted to plant some in an area that gets western sun exposure (in new jersey, usa zone 6) that is from about 12 or 1 pm to early evening. Will they bloom under those conditions? Many thanks for your help in advance. Thanks so very much for your speedy reply! I will go out tomorrow and buy up as many as I can! I love them so much for my own garden, I got endless compliments and am always specific about telling people what kind to buy. I also plant them at my 85 year old mother's home in an assisted living community. She has the most beautiful container garden in the community and they require barely any maintenance. Bless you for developing these gorgeous flowers!

Tired of a raccoon drinking all of the sugar water in our hummingbird feeder, I washed the feeder and put it away. The next day my husband said a hummingbird kept coming to our sitting room window, peering in like he was trying to tell us something. Boy, did I feel bad. It's the first time in my years of feeding hummers that I had a raccoon problem. My husband suggested I place the shepherd's hook in the middle of a Flower Carpet rose growing in the flower bed where I can easily see the hummers. I hung the refilled feeder on the hook and waited. Happily, the thorns on the small shrub rose deter Mr. Raccoon and our hummers are happy again. - K. V. M., USA

Flower carpet roses are a huge advance in disease resistance and flowering rose breeding over the past few years with, I am told, nearly 90 million sold around the world over the past decade. The Brisbane Botanic Gardens has trialled each of the new series with flowers ranging from burgundy to light red, white, yellow and now, a new amber. These roses do incredibly well in cool temperate climates. I have seen them growing and even flowering in the US in 30cm of snow and they grow just as well in southeast Queensland. - R.M., Queensland, Australia Even more widely grown in southern states, the flower carpet roses are used extensively on highway median strips and roundabouts but have also taken home gardens by storm. Pruned with a chainsaw, flowering for up to nine months and always covered in brilliant green, shiny, glossy leaves - flower carpet roses are one of the longest flowering plants in southeast Queensland gardens."

I planted the Coral Flower Carpet rose this spring, which I purchased from Lowe's. I want to thank you for the most carefree rose bush I've ever owned! Flower Carpet Pink is a very, very nice rose. This rose has been the best rose anyone could ask for. Profuse flowering, little to no care for pests or disease...in fact, I think I have only had to spray it one time for whatever was causing holes in the leaves. I cut it down to five inches every Fall and cover it over the winter as here in SD we get really cold. It is the best rose ever. - Sara B., South Dakota, USA

About five years ago I planted the Flower Carpet Red rose. I dug them up when I moved and planted them in their new home. Although moist, they love their new home and are gorgeous from spring to fall. They are one of the first to bloom. The roses reinvigorated me for my love of roses. They are not fussy. I had a huge problem a couple of years back with aphids and thought I'd lost them. A month later they sprung back and were beautiful again! I think they are red roses, at times they look pink. Excellent plant. :) I am looking to buy some yellow to go with the roses. - T.F., USA
