A summer postcard

In Milwaukee, Kathy’s roses hold their own.

All of my Flower Carpet rose bushes did well, they hold up great in any condition... even with our cruddy summers. Lovely bushes, very tough - they tolerate heat and rain. All plants have LOTS of buds and my Scarlets are going gang busters!”  - Kathy from Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Summer is a great time to get Tropicanna ® cannas into the ground or large pots.  These plants just love the heat and summer sunshine.     ensure plenty of water and good addition of fertiliser and these plants will just shine.   These are wonderful foliage show-stoppers.

Volcano Phlox 'Ruby' has smashing color, fragrance and early summer to fall bloom; it doesn't get any better than this. And the best news is the Volcano phlox paniculata series is mildew resistant. I've grown them for two years and they have been disease-free. The plants remain a tidy compact 24 inches high and don't require staking. With six colors to choose from, there is one for every garden. - Nancy Szerlag, master gardener, Detroit, USA
