In a special update, Notes from the Test Garden, Garden Gate magazine reports on five outstanding plants trialed in recent years that “live up to their promise.” Among them is Tesselaar’s ColorFlash astilbe.
The test garden editors point out ColorFlash’s “gorgeous foliage” that “starts bright green, matures to burgundy with touches of purple and turns gold and orange in fall.” They said their favorite thing about ColorFlash was that, “unlike most others, it tolerates slightly dry soils and a little more sun without getting crispy.”
