the breeders
We all know that plants are dynamic, living things, and because we understand so much about our own plants (we carry out trials around the world) we appreciate the subtle differences regarding their growth and habit.
Which is why it’s worthwhile visiting the section of our site which gives you local information – which plants are available; when it’s best to plant, prune and feed them; tips and so on. It’s all here to help you enjoy them more.
Anthony Tesselaar International Pty Ltd is a Project Management Company representing breeders and marketing their exceptional plants throughout the world.
We are committed to bringing beautiful and easy-care plants to the worlds gardeners and landscapers.
Making this possible means dealing with only the best plant breeders worldwide. We work with Breeders from all over the world, acting as their agent in the very involved commercialisation process.
Once we have selected a plant that shows the extraordinary traits of being different, colourful and easy to grow, the plant variety is then extensively tested through a formalised trial and evaluation process – examining PBR/PVR protection possibilities, plant characteristics, commercial production considerations and market positioning.
We have trial sites in universities and commercial research facilities in Australia, USA, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands and New Zealand. Only after plants have been though these various trials are they presented to our grower network.
This network of licensed growers – people who share our values of professionalism and quality – then grow on the plant ready to be delivered to their local markets.
Innovative promotion and market support play a fundamental role in bringing these new and distinctively different plants onto the market, while underpinning all this is a personal philosophy based on strong ethical practices and friendships.
It’s a coordinated approach driven by a simple aim – finding exceptional plants that make gardening easy for everyone, and commercialising them under a protected system through licensed growers worldwide (Australia, South Africa, USA, UK, Europe, New Zealand, Canada and Japan).
This whole process is designed to ensure YOUR interests are covered and respected, including the three most important areas. 1) protection through PVR of your plants, 2) licensing of production and 3) obtaining maximum sales numbers.
